Creating and editing on the website
Open My Account > African Pulse when your assigned editorial role allows it. The same story form is used in the admin workspace.
- For a new story, Primary Country starts with your account country. Change it to the country the story concerns, or leave it unspecified for broad coverage. Editing keeps the saved country.
- Type a country name to search, then select the matching name. Choices follow their displayed names, with country codes shown only as a secondary hint.
- In Sources, choose Add another source. Each row can select a registered source or enter a source manually. Mix both as needed.
- For a registered source, choose the publisher. Enter a specific article/document URL when known; a blank URL uses its website. For a manual source, enter both its name and public article/document URL.
- Use Move up, Move down or Remove source to organize citations, then save with an audit reason. Save unfinished work as Draft and submit Review when ready.
Registered and manual references
A registered source is a reusable, managed publisher or feed with reviewed trust and content rights. A manual source is a one-off citation stored only with that story; it does not create a reusable feed source.
Public registered names link to the publisher website. Public manual names link to the cited document. Both appear together in the Sources area on web and mobile.
A public link is not permission to copy an article or image. Manual citations are metadata-only references, not licensed content or trusted evidence for automatic publication or alerts. Write an original summary or follow documented rights and editorial review. The existing primary article still controls text/image permissions and Read Original.
